One of the joys about fishing at the beach is that there is always room for everyone and you never feel closed in by other anglers. So you have to empathize with this poor pelican who was minding his own business fishing near the Kure Beach Pier when a gull decided to cut in.
The pelican was having some good luck on this cold winter day when a seagull decided he wanted a piece of the action. Not only did gull close in on the pelican's fishing grounds, he decided to land on the pelican's back (at the 0:33 mark) with hopes of getting some of his catch.
It surely is a bird-eat-bird world out there. Video posted on Youtube by allstonbasement1987. (1:31 in length.)
