FORT FISHER, N.C.--New technology could lead to valuable information being gathered about sea turtles.
For the first time, the Fort Fisher Aquarium is using tracking devices to find out where young sea turtles go after their annual release back into the water...
This year, a small satellite transmitter is attached to the turtles' shells. The transmitter is a couple inches long, shaped like a cylinder and has a long antenna attached to it. Data will be transmitted back every time the turtle breaks the surface of the water..
