All are welcome and invited to attend the Friends of Fort Fisher Annual Meeting on Saturday, November 10 at Fort Fisher. You will learn first-hand the exciting plans in store for the battle-field site over the next few years. Site Manager Jim Steele will deliver a “State of the Site” presentation focusing on our newly approved strategic plan. The Friends were instrumental in development of the plan so you’ll be the first to see how the plan will unfold and the many improvements being planned for Fort Fisher.
The Friends are governed by a board of directors elected by the member-ship and new directors will be elected at the Annual Meeting. If you would like to be considered for a director’s position please contact Executive Director Paul Laird (firstname.lastname@example.org), who will be happy to elaborate on the responsibilities and duties directors are asked to embrace.
The Friends are also preparing to enter a first-time funding campaign so Annual Meeting attendees will be the first to learn more about the campaign goals and projects.
This will be a time to meet new Friends, welcome interested potential members and take pride in the wonderful accomplishments over the year. Light refreshments and socializing will begin at 9:30 a.m. with the program starting at 10:00 a.m. and concluding by 11:15 a.m. For planning purposes please RSVP to Paul Laird by November 5th. See you at the meeting!
