Video: Landing a Tiger Shark 23 Miles Off Wrightsville Beach, NC

The following video was shot 23 miles off the coast of Wrightsville Beach and features a seven foot tiger shark. Howie, who uploaded the video, explained to me that the captain of their fishing charter suggested they catch the tiger shark because it had been eating their other catches.

The group was able to hook the shark and after it gave them a nice run for their money, they were able to bring it to the boat and then release it.  This 'hooked' encounter provided more than enough motivation for the shark to move on to different fishing grounds.

Howie did not recall the exact location but noted that there was a weather buoy in the vicinity.
