Photo: Stone Hits the Carolina Beach Skate Park

Here's a great shot of Stone dropping into the bowl at the CB Skate Park. The photo was taken by his very proud Grandmother, Pam Johnson-Stewart. In our message exchange, Pam stated that Stone goes to CBES (Carolina Beach Elementary School) and is in the 1st grade.  He surfs and also takes karate here on the island.  She concluded by saying that the island offers so much for our younger residents to help keep them healthy and active.

On this Memorial Day, I'd also like to extend a big thank you to Stone for being strong and brave while his father, who is in the US military, completes a deployment in Afghanistan. On this day, we not only honor the sacrifices made by our members of the military but also the daily sacrifices made by their families.

Lastly, we would all like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Stone's father.  He was a former Carolina Beach Lifeguard and was a regular fixture in the local surf community.  We wish him a safe and quick return home and he can rest assured that we will always keep a spot open for him in the line-up.
