Video: Miniature Horses Enjoy the Sand on the North End of Carolina Beach, NC

One of the unique things about living on Pleasure Island is that horses are allowed on the North End (Freeman Park) of Carolina Beach, NC during certain months of the off season. There's just something inherently cool about sharing the sand with horses.

Here is a fun video posted by ClassyArabian of miniature horses enjoying a day in the sun this past October, 2011. These horses are from Stampede of Love and are used in animal therapy for people with disabilities. It's always nice when these little gems get to have a day off and come to Carolina Beach for a little R&R.

•Only allowed on the beach during daytime hours and are not allowed in vegetated areas.
•Owners must clean up after their animals

Finally, here are a few photos from a ride last year at Freeman Park (thanks Julie for allowing us to share the pics)
