This bear was taken on December 23, 2011 in the north east area of coastal North Carolina. The hunter was Hilena Hunt and her bear weighed in at a massive 742 pounds which set a record for a female hunter.

Vilena told WomenHunters that they were shocked to see such a huge bear and that they were only looking to feed their family of five children. Both she and her husband are Lumbee Indians and live in a region of North Carolina known for large bears.
