The Veggie Wagon is having their Grand Opening Ribbon Cutting and Fall Festival this Saturday, October 29th. And just in time for Halloween, they will be having a pumpkin carving contest to top off the day's fun.
Festivities will start at 1pm and will include face painting for the kids and various beer samplings for the “big kids” (proper id required). Several food vendors will be on hand and the Veggie Wagon will be cooking up some of their yummy treats. The ribbon cutting will take place at 2pm.
Pumpkin Carving Contest Information
Entry fee for the contest will be 3 canned goods which will be donated to NourishNC.org , which is a local food bank that serves children and families from our island community. Some items that are highly needed include canned pasta, canned tuna and oatmeal. To register, you MUST send an email to email@example.com and include your name, email address, age group you are participating in, category you are entering in and phone number. In the subject section, please title it "Pumpkin Carving Contest Registration." If there is more than one person participating from a household, please list their information separately as space is limited. The contest is on a first come first serve basis for entry.
1) traditional pumpkin carvings
2) theme category featuring people, places or things.
Two age groups:
•Goblins (17 and below)
•Ghouls (18 and up).
The judges will pick winners from each age group and category. Prizes will be awarded.
•Stencils are allowed but only if they are handmade stencils. No store bought stencils will be accepted!!!!
•You have from 1pm until about 2:45 to carve your pumpkin- judging will be at 3pm.
•You must bring your own pumpkin. You can currently purchase a pumpkin from the Veggie Wagon but don't delay as they are going fast.
•All carving must be done on site and must be family friendly.
•One pumpkin carving per entry. If you want to enter both categories, you must pay 2 entry fees.
