Wilmington Star: Carolina Beach Gets State Grant for Part of Pier Project

...Gov. Beverly Perdue sent Carolina Beach officials a letter last week announcing $100,000 in financial assistance to pay off a parcel of property for the pier project, officially called the Ocean-to-Sound Access Park. The state grant is the second the town has received for property acquisition, bringing its total grant receipts to $250,000.

But that's just a fraction of what the town hopes to receive to pay for several tracts of land the town-created nonprofit CBP3 Inc. purchased for $4.3 million from the now-defunct Arcadius project...
