NC Coastal Reserve Volunteer Training Sessions April 28 & May 5, 2011

Come learn about Masonboro Island monitoring programs for species of concern (marsh birds, American oystercatchers, sea turtles, and diamondback terrapinsat) and find out what you can do to help.

Session 1: Thursday April 28, 2011 from 6:00pm to 7:30pm
Speaker: April Alford, Researcher & Hope Sutton, Stewardship Coordinator
Topics: Natural history and ecology of Sea Turtles & Diamondback Terrapins. Monitoring and protection efforts at the Masonboro Island Reserve with a focus on how you can get involved with these efforts.

Session 2: Thursday May 5, 2011 from 6:00pm to 7:30 pm
Speaker: Ginger Winder, Research Fellow & Hope Sutton, Stewardship Coordinator
Topics: Research on sparrow populations utilizing the Reserve. Natural history and ecology of marsh and shore birds. Monitoring efforts at the Masonboro Island Reserve and how you can get involved.
