The Fort Fisher Aquarium will be holding various summer camps from June to August 2011. The camps will combine fun and learning into unforgettable adventures. Children will enjoy outdoor activities, animal interactions, crafts, videos, behind-the-scenes action and much more.
The camps offer kids the opportunity to learn more about the plants and animals that inhabit our coastal waters, and also enjoy an opportunity to learn what it’s like to work at the Aquarium.
The camps are open to the following age groups:
Aquanauts, Ages 5-6: become immersed in weekly topics through animal interaction, play, story telling, crafts, and hands on outdoor activities.
Marine Detectives, Ages 7-9: use their investigative skills in animal programs, outdoor excursions, and interactive games to better understand new concepts.
Ocean Explorers, Ages 10-12: participate with staff in experiences outdoors, and behind the scenes at the Aquarium, to discover each weekly topic.
Coastal Crusaders, Ages 13-14: venture farther to explore different coastal environments, such as black water swamps. These campers also interact more directly with staff behind the scenes to assist with animal care.
