Beth Moon made a New Year’s resolution in 1999 to run 10 miles every day for 100 consecutive days. Reaching her goal was just the beginning of the story, though. It’s been over 4,400 days since that first run, and the 64-year-old hasn’t missed a day since.
“I just thought well, what the heck? If I can run for a hundred days straight, it’ll be a habit, and I’ll just keep doing it,” she said. “It got easier and easier. Then I just didn’t know what to do if I didn’t run.”
Regardless of rain, snow, heat or sickness, Moon has started each day for the past 12 years with typically an 11-mile, two-hour long run. That’s approximately 48,400 miles and she’s steadily counting...
