Wilmington Star: Carolina Beach Vendors Hope New Market Extends Summer Success

If you've been missing the Carolina Beach Farmer's Market since it ended on Oct. 9, you don't have to find another activity to occupy your Saturday mornings just yet.

Max and April Sussman of The Veggie Wagon are organizing the Pleasure Island Fresh Market from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Saturday Nov. 6 through Dec. 18. It will be similar to the earlier market with many of the same vendors, but instead of being held at Lake Park it will take place around the Carolina Beach Municipal Marina in the grassy area near the Winner Boats...

So far there are about 20 vendors signed on for the seven-week fall run. Products you'll find include beef, eggs, milk, cheeses, soaps, sauces, wine, peanuts, candles, photography, jewelry, pastries – including a booth from La Gemma, an Italian bakery in Wilmington – and hot beverages such as coffee and cider from Treehouse Bistro in Carolina Beach...
