A New Restaurant is Coming to Carolina Beach
Mike at Snow's Cut Monthly reports that a new restaurant is headed to Carolina Beach. Pete Donat has taken over the Cottage (most recently Zorba's) which is located at the corner of Lake Park and Cape Fear Blvd.
According to the article, Pete is the former manager of the Oceanic located at Wrightsville Beach and has been looking for his own place to start a restaurant. His search was extensive but once he visited the Cottage in Carolina Beach, he knew he found his ideal location. He anticipates opening 'Havana's' before the 2009 summer season and they will feature fresh Island seafood, steaks and pasta dishes.
I sincerely hope that Pete is successful and is able to revive the Cottage back to it's early glory days. The potential of that building is high and the location is perfect. It just needs the right person to make it happen and it appears that Pete has the right background to make it a reality.
So for now, I look forward to trying them out once they open and envision enjoying some Island seafood from their breezy front porch. Summer's calling...
