Havana's Restaurant to Open in Early March

Havana's Restaurant, Carolina Beach's newest eating venue, will be opening in the next couple of weeks. According to the owner's brother, who posted on The Grove Project, the restaurant will feature local seafood with an island flair. At the time of his post, February 22nd, he stated that they would open on March 6th. Of course we all know that a whole host of issues can arise when trying to open a new restaurant...we most certainly won't hold them to that exact date.

[EDIT: 03/05/2009 Havana's has Opened--Read Review Here ]

Their website, which appears to have been temporarily taken down, has their menu and hours of operation. They have an extensive offering of seafood dishes including Maryland style crab cakes. They also will be offering steaks, prime rib and duck.

The hours listed were as follows (of course this is subject to change as they finalize operations):

Monday - Sunday 4:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Sunday - Thursday 4:00 pm - 11:00 pm
Friday & Saturday 4:00 pm - 1:00 am

I can't begin to tell you how pleased I am that a new restaurant has taken over the cottage. It is such a wonderful building with rich history, not to mention a fantastic location. We can only hope that they are successful and I'm sure we all are looking forward to giving them a try once they open their doors.
